Stefan Zweig letter and pamphlet, 1929-1932.

The collection consists of a leaflet titled, Thanks to books, and a letter to Mr. Bartlett. The leaflet, translated by Theodore Wesley Koch, was prepared for members of the Limited Editions Club and is copyrighted 1929. Previously published as Dank an die Bùˆcher, it is a prose elegy to books and the information they contain. The handwritten letter to Mr. Bartlett is dated 4 July 1932, Salzburg. The text contains Zweig's compliments on Bartlett's forthcoming book on world peace, Zweig's message of peace to be included therein, and his observations on conditions in Europe.
